Born in 2000 in North Yorkshire, Charlotte is rapidly gaining the highest acclaim for her performances in the UK and overseas. Charlotte has recently finished her training at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London (BMus Hons), and before this attended the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music Sixth Form in Manchester.

 

Charlotte has sung with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and has participated in the Samling Academy (developing the next generation of classical singers in the North East of England).  Singing with these ensembles, and the Tees Valley Youth Choir, she has been fortunate to sing in some amazing venues, including The Sage, the Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Durham Cathedral, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. In October 2017, Charlotte was honoured to sing at Westminster’s Central Hall, London, for 2000 invited guests and July 2018 saw her singing at the Proms in the Priory, Guisborough, with the London Gala Orchestra.

 

Keen to widen her knowledge of performance techniques,Charlotte has worked with principals from English National Opera, Melbourne Opera, staff from the School of Vocal Studies and Opera at the Royal Northern College of Music and participated in many vocal workshops and masterclasses including Malcolm Martineau, OBE, Caroline Dowdle, Sarah Leonard, Peter Polycarpou, Marcus Farnsworth, Patricia MacMahon and Sarah Walker.

 

Charlotte has performed solos with a range of vocal ensembles including the Chetham’s Chamber Choir, Chetham’s Vocal Department, Durham Singers, Guisborough Choral Society, Honley MVC, Stockton Synthonia MVC and in June 2019 she was invited, by Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir, to sing with Lesley Garrett.  Further afield, Charlotte has been invited for four summers to perform a number of recitals in Bagni di Lucca, Italy, including one with pianist Stefano Teani. With the Guildhall School of Music vocal department Charlotte was involved in a 'Virtual Opera Double Bill' of Dido and Aeneas and La bella dormant nel bosco during the Coronavirus lockdown, and was in their production of Albert Herring in May 2022. In July 2023, Charlotte played the role of Susanna from Le nozze di Figaro in the postgraduate Opera Scenes. 

 

In spring 2020 Charlotte appeared in Season 7, episode 3  of ITV’s Endeavour, where she played the role of an Oxford University Music undergraduate. In 2022, Charlotte was part of a SATB small ensemble recording of 'A Song for the Commonwealth' that was heard around the UK and Commonwealth as the beacons were lit in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on Thursday 2nd June 2022. On the 12th November 2022, Charlotte had the great honour of joining the Band of the Royal Fusiliers at Durham Cathedral as their soloist for the 2022 Festival of Remembrance, and is looking forward to the 2023 Festival of Remembrance. On the 21st October 2023, Charlotte was the principal soloist at a Proms concert at the O2 City Hall, Newcastle, and was invited to be the guest soloist for the Teesside Symphony Orchestra's 'Wine, Women and Song' concert on the 25th November 2023. On  On 6th June, Charlotte performed with Ripon City Band at Ripon Cathedral to celebrate the anniversary of D-Day. She is looking forward to performing with the Band at Ripon Cathedral again for their Festival of Remembrance in November.
